Digging through the studio again...
This is another piece from back around the turn of the century. Not sure if was ever exhibited publicly-- I'm pretty sure that I completed it for a show, but then may have dropped it out at the last minute (?).
Lots of obsessive cutting up and recombining. Like a Hungarian goulash... or "ghoul-hash"?
It seems that my work has been about heads and faces taken apart and re-assembled for quite some time.
Buried at the center of this chaotic patchwork quilt of paper and staples and tape is something that adds to the meaning in this search for identity.

The ship alludes to immigration, the journey taken by an outsider-- Lugosi, Dracula, our own ancestors-- to find a new identity in another place.
