Haig Demarjian has always been fascinated with monstrosities and began drawing them when he was first able to pick up a crayon. He went on to train as a printmaker and painter, earning a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Since 1991 his work has been exhibited extensively throughout the US, Canada and abroad in group shows and eleven solo exhibitions. The recipient of numerous grants and awards, Demarjian's work is represented in several international collections including the permanent collections of the Milwaukee Art Museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Panama, The Rhode Island Historical Society, Museum of Collage Montage and Assemblage in Mexico City and The University of Iowa Print Society Collection. Constantly seeking out new problems to solve, he works in a broad range of media often mixing printmaking, painting, collage and illustration. He has designed book and album covers and is one half of Zombastic Productions, the independent filmmaking company responsible for the infamous, internationally award-winning cult feature DIE YOU ZOMBIE BASTARDS! (available on DVD from Image Entertainment).
